قبول قانون الإيمان وقوانين مجمع نيقية في كنيسة المشرق: المسار التاريخي والأهمية المسكونية

اعتمد مجمع إسحق (٤١٠ م)، الذي انعقد بعد ٨٥ عاماً من مجمع نيقية، الإيمان والقوانين واللوائح التقويمية للمجمع المسكوني الأول. لم يكن الهدف من هذا المجمع إعادة تنظيم الكنيسة السريانية الشرقية ومركزيتها فحسب، بل أيضاً مواءمتها مع الغرب من حيث الإيمان. وقد نجا النَص السرياني للعقيدة، الذي اعتُمد عام ٤١٠، في نسختين: نسخة سريانية غربية حررها آرثر ڤوبوس ونسخة سريانية شرقية في السينودس الشرقي الذي حرره جان-باپتيست شابو. تمكن أندريه دي هالو من إثبات أن العقيدة غير الموجودة في مجموعة المجمع السرياني الشرقي اليوم هي على الأرجح تلك التي اعتُمدت في مجمع ساليق-قطسيفون عام ٤١٠. وهي تحديث نيقي لعقيدة فارسية محلية. بمعنى آخر، عبّر آباء المجمع الفارسيون عن إيمانهم بعقيدتهم الخاصة، وأرسوا اتفاقهم في الإيمان مع كنيسة الإمبراطورية الرومانية رغم اختلاف الصياغة. وبالمثل، عُدّلت القوانين واللوائح التقويمية لتلائم احتياجات الكنيسة الفارسية. ومع ذلك، فإن الشركة مع كنيسة الإمبراطورية الرومانية واضحة. إن حقيقة التعبيرات المختلفة عن الإيمان نفسه لها أهمية مسكونية هائلة بالنسبة لحوارنا اليوم.
